10. Decommissioning#
Even when the Meca500 reaches the end of its product life cycle or is deemed to be damaged beyond repair, we encourage you to contact us to verify whether complete disposal can be avoided.
If you do decide to dispose of the Meca500 system (robot arm, PS200 module, and cables), you must do so in accordance with applicable national laws, regulations, and standards.
10.1. Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)#
The Meca500 industrial robot falls within the scope of Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2) and complies with the substance-restriction provisions set forth in that directive.
This compliance is formally declared in the Declaration of Incorporation (DoI) supplied with this product.
10.2. REACH regulation#
This product is classified as an “article” under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH). Based on supplier information and our current knowledge, we confirm that certain materials within this product contain lead (SVHC, CAS No. 7439-92-1) in concentrations above 0.1 % (w/w). The presence of lead results from its use in specific motor components. Its use is permitted under REACH, and we continue working with our suppliers to reduce or eliminate such substances where technically feasible, in accordance with the list of Substances of Very High Concern published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) at the time of manufacture.
10.3. Disposal and recycling#
Specialized recycling organizations can dismantle the robot and controller to sort materials and recover metals such as aluminum in an environmentally responsible manner.
If the robot is not contaminated, you may also ship it back to us for assessment or recycling.
