Firmware Files#
Here, you will find all robot firmware files along with the firmware release notes. For optimal performance, always update your Mecademic robot with the latest available firmware.
Each firmware file is a ZIP archive containing multiple files, including XML files for the cyclic protocols, and the actual firmware update file (with an *.update extension).
For the Meca500, the ZIP file also includes the firmware update file for its accessories (the MEGP 25* electric grippers and the MPM500 pneumatic module). These accessories, sometimes called external tools, are updated automatically during the robot firmware update if already installed. If installed afterward, they must be updated separately using the “external tools” .update file. The following version constraints apply:
Meca500-R2: Last compatible firmware version is 8.4.9.
Meca500-R3: Requires firmware version 7.0.6 or later.
Meca500-R4: Requires firmware version 9.2.1 or later.
Legacy Support: Firmware versions prior to 8.4.9 are no longer supported by Mecademic.
For the MCS500, the optional MVK01 vacuum and I/O module is updated automatically, even if installed after updating the robot’s firmware.
Refer to the section Updating the robot’s firmware in the MecaPortal operating manual for further details.
